When you or your children join 1st Fair Oak Scouts (8th Eastleigh) you provide information as part of your application.

When you join:
You are consenting to communications from us, we take care to keep these communications private, especially when Personal Data is shared, such as in the Young Person/Adult Information Form, where some parts will be classed as sensitive data.

While an active member of our group:
The young person, parent/guardian or volunteer’s data will be stored by the group securely. We use a number of systems :
– Compass (Scout Association)
– Online Scout Manager – (Section details, badges, events)
– G Suite – for the emailing to sections and parents.

The Scout Association and a Member’s local Scout unit will send Members communications about Scouting relevant to their role or association with Scouting.

When you move on or leave scouting:
When data is being transferred from one person (a Section leader) to another, care is taken and we use a system call Online Scout Manager to transfer records. If at any time a young person wishes to leave Scouting, once you have notified us their data will be deleted.

Our group is classified as the Data Controller of your data and as such we have a requirement to let you know who we use as third parties for storing the data and what are their policies with regard to GDPR.
